Protest results...

According to the Yandex blog for today, the number of Russian LJers posting last Friday was about 15% less than usual (this is according to their count, apparently calculated for a 21-hour period between 0300 and 2400 Moscow time for the past 5 weeks, and shown in the top graphic).

Breaking the number down further, according to the blog, it turns out the reduction among bloggers who have been around on LJ for 3 years or more was greater (20.27%) than for those who have been around for more than a year (18.79%) or for those who started their account two months ago (13.41%). This is shown in the bottom graphic. (Speaking for myself, I would doubt that these percentages warrant four significant figures.)

Again according to the blog, more than two-thirds of active LJers (and I expect all these numbers refer only to the Russian-speaking portion of LJ) have been blogging for more than a year. In the opinion of Anton Volnukhin, the author of the piece, last Friday's action was "noticeable."

Cheers...

I am still not looking forward to being forced onto a Plus account. Even though I use Firefox and it's (excellent) adblockers, ads still suck and being forced into something that I don't like really doesn't appeal...
