Long day...
Events conspired to wake me at 3 am, and about 40 minutes later, I gave up the effort to fall back into the arms of Morpheus and got up to see what I could do about two 4200-word files assigned for my favorite deadline: as-soon-as-possible-but-Monday-will-be-fine.
The fly in the ointment is that both files are HTML and not Word documents, so some extra care is called for. I finished one of the files by about 7:30 am, but held off sending it, since I'm going to want to do a particularly thorough despeckle. (It's been ages since I've translated an HTML file.)
I had played around with the idea of going into The City today with Galina, but there simply wasn't time, so we ended up spending most of the afternoon down in the Garden City area, mostly looking for shoes for me, but we did manage to stop by the Apple store at Roosevelt Field, where I was told substantially the same thing as was told to me at the AT&T place. However, the fact that the iPhone and iPod Touch have leveled out in price (more or less) is a good data point.
The end client suggested an evening out Sunday night to attend a Deep Purple concert in Dnepropetrovsk, and since this affords a good opportunity to get acquainted with some of the folks I'll be supporting, I'm in for a ticket that costs about US$60. I don't think I've heard a Deep Purple cut in years, but I'm looking forward to the event.
I'm about 30% through the second file, so I better get back to the face of the mine pronto. I'd really like to get the assignment out of the way before I leave for the airport.
Writing all those invoices would be good, too.

UPDATE: I'm done with the first pass through both files and even managed to address some questions that popped up along the way, such as: Is there a difference between a "time interval" and an "amount of time"? (I concluded yes.) Now, it's off to bed.
