Hmmm.
As one with some small experience in the real estate market, I would personally stay away from an investment like that, from the point of view of:
liquidity (real estate sucks in that department),
timing (I assume it takes at least a decade to get decent-sized trees, and I think I'm being optimistic with that estimate), and
fragility (just saw a piece on preparations for fire season here in Colorado, while there is snow on the ground!)
However, you are closer to the reality and - most important - it's your dream, so don't mind me or other naysayers.
