Movin' on down the road...
Two new items came in the mail overnight. One I sent back because it was due Friday morning, and because I had committed my time to a client for tomorrow and Thursday and had a pretty full day of work today, especially in light of the other item.
Wouldn't you know it, about 45 minutes after declining the job, my tomorrow-and-Thursday client called to say that tomorrow's gig wasn't going to happen because the expected documents hadn't arrived.
I was not a particularly happy camper when I heard that news, but such is life in the fast lane.
So, I shuffled my workload around and, after taking care of the items that pay the bills, started in on the chunk of science fiction that arrived in the middle of the day.
It's not as easy as I thought, but then again, I'm just finding my "sea legs" for the job.
All told, it's been a 3,500-source-word day. Not too shabby.
