Few things make my day more than receiving a source document consisting of a fax of a poor photocopy - lines down the page, faded text areas - that's then scanned into a PDF file at 150 dpi.

My eyeballs are going to kill me.

At some point you should consider returning your translation to clients like in the same format ;p
