A productive day...

Besides this week's LJ Idol essay, I managed to knock off 5,000 target words today, which is a Good Thing™, as I have another 8500 source words to translate tomorrow and Wednesday.

From the point of view of work, March is, apparently, coming in like a lion. I fervently hope it does not go out like a lamb (though a couple of days off, somewhere in the middle, would not be amiss).

Dinner was another experiment. I made rice the "old fashioned" way, in our ancient rice cooker, adding a tablespoon of plov spice to the mix, along with about 1/4 teaspoon of kosher salt. The wrinkle came when I threw a sirloin-cut pork chop in with the rice, along with some extra water.

When the "ready" light came on, everything was well-cooked, tender, and tasty. I also had enough rice left over to fill some small containers for rice-and-natto breakfast for the rest of the week. The remaining question is: does this technique scale?

Cheers...
