Progress report...
As I expected, the feeling of progress while attacking the project in a "longest sentences first" manner is virtually non-existent.
For the record, the longest source text sentence was 128 words long; the second, 107. I am now in the middle of a seemingly endless procession of sentences of 55-65 words each, which makes them ideal candidates for expressing things in a convoluted manner. Between the spaghetti-like train of thought in such sentences, there is also the overall issue of continuing to come up to speed in the mechanics of steel structures, or more precisely, the terminology of that subject.
Still, this approach ought to work, once I overcome this rather large psychological "speed bump."
I have accepted an emergency editing job for tomorrow from the same project manager. I will look forward to seeking a quid pro quo early next week vis à vis the deadline on this project. <grin>
