File search...

The ability to search for files in Windows Explorer continues to degrade. Upgrading my Acrobat caused my signatures to get all muddled, so now I need to go back and find the graphic file with my signature.

Trying to search for a "sig" file gets me several hundred files that don't have "sig" in the name. Attempting to filter the search by file type (presumably that's what is meant by "Type") doesn't work, as I can't specify any file types to search for (indeed, my system prefers to search for a file I haven't fully specified yet... criminy...).

It'll be easier to just print out the effing document, sign it, and rescan it.

Thanks, Adobe.

Search in Windows Explorer is pretty frustrating. I use a utility called SearchMyFiles instead. (I linked to it in my previous comment, but I think the spam filter ate it.)

I was notified of both your comments in email, and LJ is telling me that my post has one comment and one "suspicious comment," which may be so classified not so much because of spam as of potential malware.

NirSoft came across through Chrome as a potential malware site, although the download of the SearchMyFiles utility—with Chrome continuing to moan and groan—got a clean bill of health from my avast! antivirus.

Thanks for the tip.
