Glad to be back home...

It has been one of those certifiably crazy Fridays.

After making sure that incoming assignments were not critical and not expected back today, I joined Galina in an odyssey to finalize the renting of the daughter's house. This should not have taken as long as it did, but it did. We got back home at nearly 6 pm, and all I wanted to do was to lie down and take a nap, but that's not really a feasible alternative at that time of day.

So, I drank a cup of coffee shortly after returning home (not that the caffeine really affects me, one way or another—I suspect any "stay-up" quality is more suggestive than anything else), and have stumbled along in front of an unbelievably vapid program on something-or-other until just a few minutes ago, when I figured I could better spend my time filing navel lint, should there be any to be found in my vicinity

It will be a working weekend, so it was good to get some "free" time in today.

Cheers...

I am the opposite of you when it comes to caffeine. Should I have a late breakfast on a Sunday morning, say about 9 a.m. and be so foolish or so bold as to have a second cuppa, I will actually WAKE up at 2 a.m. that night, and stay awake, thanks to the coffee. I generally follow a fairly strict policy of having one strong cup of coffee every morning at about 7 a.m. simply to keep myself more or less accustomed to caffeine. But it tends to react waaay later than it does for most normal people. You might think this is odd, but I have learned in recent years that my dad and at least one brother also react in this way. It's a shame, because I really enjoy coffee, especially STRONG coffee.

Coffee has no actual wake up effect on me. It just warms me. The act of making it wakes me up, but the drink, not so much. Now espresso.....different story. AW
