Burned!
I've been using Allaire's HomeSite for some time now, with nothing to complain about, until now. Using v.4.5, I got into some kind of pathological state where the program was saving edit changes somewhere, but never actually saved the new file to disk.
I noticed this when I tried to exit the application, but since the changes I was making seemed to be readable by MIE, I assumed (ah, that wondrous concatenation!) that the error was reflecting a bug in the screen display routines.
Hah!
Two hours of painstaking work to put together an HTML curriculum vitae (this, for a possible freelance job that requires a knowledge of HTML)...gone! Yech. Not even a copy in the MIE cache.
Ah, well...that'll teach me. Duplicating the file took half the time, and I probably improved it some. The proof of the effort will come probably Monday, one way or another.
