L-1. Up and at 'em!

I looked at the clock when I woke unaided from last night's sleep, and as the time was exactly 6:00 am, I took it as a sign that it was high time to rouse my carcass from bed. I have since had a light breakfast, done laundry (which is drying), and put a significant dent in "despeckling" the room (I have a tendency to accumulate papers). If I am lucky, I'll be able to finish despeckling a large file I've been working on in the odd hours, especially since there will be a high premium on such hours starting about... two hours from now. :^)

To work!

Cheers...

Less than 12 hours to go...

We are flirting with detail overload. Pavel P., one of the interpreters whose job it is to work a console and participate in executing the "operator's script" at the выносной командный пункт (remote command post, aka "the bunker"), was prevented from entering the facility for several minutes a little while ago due to a bureaucratic screwup. That caused a flurry of phone calls to get him inside to his work place soonest.

I'm studying the agenda for this evening's Government Commission meeting... and the program director has just come in with a hot letter for translation...
