Albuquerque morning...

Galina dropped me off about half an hour ago at the Sunport, and right now, I'm finishing a bagel and a cup of coffee before wandering over to the gate area to wait for the Atlanta flight to start boarding.

I received the meeting itinerary yesterday, and it looks pretty packed. It should be a good meeting, though, even if I am flying in steerage.

The drive down yesterday was largely uneventful, if you don't count my forgetting my warm coat. Then again, considering where I'm going, and what time of year it is, saying that reminds me of the line "Aside from the unpleasant incident involving your husband, Mrs. Lincoln, how did you like the play?"

So we spent last night hunting down a coat for me, and ended up buying a new blazer as well. (I foresee some serious clothing contributions to the Humane Society after I get home.)

Next post from Over There, I think.

Cheers...

Atlanta noon...

The flight from Albuquerque was aided by a 90-knot tail wind, courtesy of the jet stream, so we got into Atlanta a little earlier than expected. I slept for most of the way. Having arrived at Hartsfield for what seems the umpteenth time, I can walk the route from gate to gate very nearly blindfolded: down to the center of the concourse (typically A), down the escalator to the shuttle train, out to concourse E, and then back up for air.

Back at Albuquerque, out at "my" end of the B concourse, there's a long work desk and a charging station with a few dozen closely spaced outlets. Here at the food court in concourse E, there are several "bars" where you can similarly plug in your laptop and use free WiFi, just as in Albuquerque (except that attempts to connect to webmail sites like Fastmail and Gmail are consistently interrupted).

Time to go see if I can get into the Delta lounge to meet with the folks I'll be working for.

Cheers...
