What really bugs me about Acrobat... (another in a continuing series)
It took me a little while to figure this out, and I am blessedly doing so the (relatively) easy way—one that does not involve money and clients—but it turns out...
...for whatever reason...
...it is entirely possible—when saving "over" a file in Acrobat X—to have the application ask "Do you really want to replace the file?"...
...and when you click "Yes"...
...to have Acrobat quietly and (presumably) efficiently, with nary a single peep...
...not do so, leaving the previous file intact!
There's nothing like a "professional" tool to get things done, and Acrobat X fits that bill literally (i.e, it is nothing like a professional tool).
Back to the face!
