The following generalizes well...

A man saw a homeless girl on the street, cold and shivering in a thin dress on a cold night.

The man got angry, and shouted at God: "Why do you permit this? Why do you allow an innocent girl to suffer? Why don't you do something about this?"

God was silent for a while.

Then he responded: "I certainly did do something about it. I made you."

Cheers...

I've always loved that story.

An little old woman and her grandson are having a nice walk by the seashore, when suddenly, a massive wave crashes on the shore and carries the child off. Horrified, the grandmother falls to her knees by the water, looks up at the heavens, and cries: "Oh, God: Have I not been devout? Have I not gone to temple every week? I've never asked You for anything before, but now I pray that You bring my grandson back to me." God hears her, and another huge wave rolls in, and the boy reappears from the water.

The grandmother looks up again and makes a face: "He had a hat!"
