RSS is done. Now, what do I do with it?

RSS stands for RDF Site Summary, Rich Site Summary, or Really Simple Syndication, depending on who you believe. Whatever it stands for, the idea behind RSS is that, by creating an XML file with data about your site's content and making it available to the world, you can "syndicate" your site.

Creating an RSS file with CityDesk was pathetically easy. (Anyone know of any Open Source alternatives to CityDesk? As much as I like it, it's YAWP [Yet Another Windows Program], and I'd really like to cut down on my purchases of Windows programs this coming year.)

The next step is to let people know about the availability of the "feed," as it's called. Back to the books.

Cheers...
