Amazing what one can do...
The CSS Zen Garden is an intriguing site. The rules are fairly simple: modify the style sheet (the CSS file) in any way you want, but leave the original HTML file alone.
I recall once reading how the appearance of a web page could be dramatically changed simply by changing the style sheet, but I never followed up on the idea. The referenced site provides ample demonstration of that idea, and the results are quite impressive, in my view; certainly head and shoulders above the table-based layout I've been used to.
