alexpgp: (MCC)

Not much to report...

It's sort of hard to say where the day went after my shift. Some of it, of course, I spent sleeping. However, in the immediate aftermath of leaving the MCC, Galina and I took off for the title company (there seems to be an endless stream of details to correct), after which we stopped by the nearby Hobby Lobby, Barnes & Noble, and CompUSA, until we ended up at the Wal-Mart to get the car ready for the trip home.

While there, I stumbled across a couple of interesting ideas: First, they had those heavy-duty plastic bags on sale that are supposed to conserve space in your luggage by compressing the contents (presumably clothes). While the advertised use is interesting, I'm much more interested in keeping things like bottles of shampoo from leaking all over the clothes, and haven't met an ordinary sealable bag that inspires confidence (all television ads aside).

Second is a toothbrush with a name along the lines of "Oral-B Sonic Complete," which I saw advertised in a magazine I was leafing through while they put the finishing touches on the Winstar. A quick walk to the pharmacy area confirmed they had the item in stock, but it's pricey. On the other hand, the claim that it reverses gingivitis is hard to ignore. More research is needed.

Today marks my fifth "fasting Tuesday" (I think, I haven't been counting). I still feel pretty good, but it's hard to tell if I'm making any weight loss progress since there's no convenient place around here to get weighed. I certainly have not been eating large meals (I think the dinner at Natalie's on Sunday was the largest amount of food I've eaten in one sitting during this trip).

A look at the schedule shows four more shifts after this one is complete. I've put together a preliminary plan of how I'd like to see things come together once my last shift is complete, but I think it still needs work.

The client sent me a link to the mandatory annual IT training that I must do to retain access to my account here at JSC. I think I'll go take care of that right now.

Cheers...
