I'll resist Vista until such time as I have to put a new machine together or they stop supporting XP. It has nothing I need or want, and much that I don't. From W98 through XP, I've never picked up a virus or any kind of spyware even though I don't run a virus checker in the background. The extra security in Vista seems to have more chances of interfering in the user experience than actually being useful. The graphics appeal doesn't. But then I stick with the "Classic" desktop in XP - I hate that default look as well. If I can't change to a Classic desktop in Vista, I may well never adopt it.
