A whole lot of not much going on...
I mustered enough energy to start and finish the item due this morning, since I just was not in the mood to worry about it last night. That done, I went along with Galina for a day of looking at sinks, faucets, and suchlike, which now ranks up there with shopping for shoes in my pantheon of things that are preferred to having your nails torn out by the roots, but not by a whole lot.
Mostly, I can't believe the prices. One place offered us a really sweet deal - 35% off - on a garbage disposal, for only $355! (Not including installation, naturally.) And I'm not going to juice my blood pressure back up remembering all of the other idiotic prices, except one: some kind of sky blue granite, for a countertop, going for $239 per square foot!
Late in the afternoon, I dropped Galina at the Lowe's in Westbury while I made my way down the road to about the only decent computer store I've been able to find, Microcenter. I was curious to see what kind of laptop you get for $359, which is their perpetually advertised "one-per-household" (possible) loss leader. They also carry the Asus eee, along with some "normal" Asus laptops, and a few Lenovo models, but not the one I took a look at on the web. Of course, there were VAIOs on display, on 16-inch centers. There was also a Fujitsu tablet Lifebook on display, and it looks like a nice piece of equipment, but at very nearly $2000, it's outside the range of what I consider a reasonable price.
Looks like I'm going to Houston soon, but I'm not going to dwell on that now. It's time to take it easy.
Cheers...

In fact, it occurs to me that a disposal would be a new addition to the house, and since the house drains into a septic tank, I'm wondering at the wisdom of accelerating the addition of solids to the gray water stream.
Sorry, that doubtless is starting to approach TMI.
