Moving forward, at 86,400 seconds per day!

It's been a real quiet day around here. Galina's been hinting that I should be ripping up carpet in preparation for the new installation, but I think I'll wait until reinforcements (Natalie and Robert) show up tomorrow. Galina's "Plan B" involves me packing everything away in boxes.

Again.

I can't really figure out why, except to have stuff where I can't get at it.

Supposedly, the idea is that once the new carpet is installed, we want to pretty much empty the house of animals, so as to avoid "accidents." Me, I welcome any idea that gets me out of Houston, but leaving Galina behind to take care of details and rent the place... I don't know.

Paid off some credit cards and found that I couldn't get at the Town of Oyster Bay's payment system, which is going to cost me some money. My bad. OTOH, did I mention paying off credit cards? Always a good thing.

Still, I might mention the online snafu when I do send along my payment to the folks in New York.

Between some small amount of additional translation work and the French translations I neglected to include in my tally the other day, the year's final translation total stands at 724,212.

This is an improvement on the 545,675 words invoiced in 2008 and the 628,651 words invoiced in 2007, but fails to consider how the respective amounts invoiced for interpretation were significantly down this year.

One can always hope that, despite everything going on in the world today, 2010 will be a better year for all us working stiffs.

Happy New Year!

Cheers...
