Deciding what to do...

It's been a pretty wide-ranging day so far, starting with getting up "late" (at 7 am), after which I tried to put some finishing polish on the document I finished yesterday, only to find that Word really didn't want to wake up with the rest of my computer.

When I finally got everything back, the Wordfast "cleanup" operation (which removes segments from the translated document) had also rearranged some of the graphics in the file, so it took a while to find them all and put them back where they belonged.

All in all, it took a lot longer to finish that job than I expected.

What is lost in one area is sometimes found in another, so when I started on the software description, I was gratified to see how smoothly it went. Despite getting a somewhat late start on the document, and taking a 2-hour nap in the middle of it, I've managed to go past the halfway point and currently have 3800 words left for tomorrow.

If I'm feeling bored later this evening, I might come back downstairs and translate several hundred more words, although even with the prospect of having to despeckle the document before sending it off tomorrow night, I'm confident I can call it a day right now and have no worries.

Today marks a one month anniversary of my broadcast and satellite television "fast" (not counting watching videos on Netflix, YouTube, or Boxee). Among other things, it means I didn't watch a minute of Olympics coverage this past month, and I'm totally comfortable with that.

The days are getting longer, but not long enough. From where I sit (in the basement, with windows buried under snow), it is dark outside.

If nothing else, I need to go fix dinner.

Cheers...

Выражение появилось в английском языке в 16-ом веке, и имеет смысл "во всех вещах, во всех отношениях," зато в современном языке, чаще всего употребляются "в целом" или "в итоге."
