I was digging through some stuff today, looking for an old document, when I ran across an old grip-n-grin of me and my trusty radio, taken during a training exercise back when I was a PFC.
It sure would. I don't recall its exact designation, but for some reason "AN/MRC-85" comes to mind.
It was certainly not as portable as the trusty AN/PRC-25, and touching the antenna while the operator was transmitting was a sure ticket to sick bay or the morgue due to the high-amperage current in that sucker, as I recall.
