I just ran across a page at a translation company's web site, written to provide tips on "how to translate" for said company's translators.

That's a red flag, right there.

I mean, any company that starts out with the assumption that potential freelancers need such tips is probably not long for this world.

The eye drops easily to the list of headings.

The second item on the list?

Learn How To Type

That pegged the OMG meter.

I didn't go that far.

In fairness, though, learning how "to type" subsumes those skills needed to use a computer keyboard as well.
