All good plans go "poof!"...

I had planned to do some work to set up my office and then do some of the long-term work today, but by the time I got a good head of stem going with the former, it was after 2 pm and I was in that "zone" where I was nicely tired, but not exhausted, so I elected to spend the whole day setting up the office, with the idea of spending all day tomorrow translating.

Things went well. Shelves have been set up along one wall, computers and monitors have been moved. I need to squirt some WD-40 into the room's fan, or play loud classical music to cover the squeaking sound.

Dinner was spaghetti with clam sauce, accompanied by wine.

Life is good.

I'm guessing that even really loud music would still allow a little squeak to get through. Amazing what you can hear when you don't want to!

I could just play P.D.Q. Bach's 1712 Overture, and who'd know?

:^)

I am reminded of how, some years ago when I stayed at a house in Pearland (not far from here or from a set of active railroad tracks), that I developed the knack of "failing to hear" passing train horns after just a few days.

Amazing what escapes your hearing when it becomes routine!

Cheers...
