Long day...
What made it a long day was the uncertainty associated with the stuff I've committed to doing over the weekend. Fortunately, I've just vacuumed 4400 words of the 7100 words right off the plate, thanks to the fact that the document is a fairly repetitive engineering report.
A quick glance at the rest of the document shows that there's not much text left, so a lot of the pucker factor has gone away. If things fall into place, I may actually be able to take a guiltless day off this holiday weekend.
The date reminds me that my first trip to Houston to work on space-related documents included the Memorial Day weekend of 1995, when it was driven home to me that translators work when "normal" people have fun.
