Good news, bad news...

Yesterday, I settled on a general approach that involved a daily goal of 3,000 source words per day, and anything I managed in excess of that would be gravy.

By about lunchtime today, working on a government standard due later this week, I had done almost 4,000 words. That's the good news.

The bad news is that the copy of the standard I downloaded to use instead of the remarkably poor contents of the file I was given to work with (low resolution to start with, and then compressed vertically to make A4 pages fit inside of the 8-1/2x11 envelope) is markedly different from the document I need to submit.

My haste in finding a suitable original in which to work has, apparently, turned around and nipped at me. But hard!

Anyway, it's looking as if I'll wind up the day with about 6,500 words done, which is pretty good, but not as good as it might otherwise be, since about 1,500 of that figure are words that got "found" today (i.e., they had not been part of my expected "what's on the plate" count yesterday).

Still, I've no reason at all to complain. None at all.
