That "itch"...
One of the fundamental "services" that LiveJournal has fulfilled for me since I signed up in mid-2000 was to help scratch the writer's "itch," which can be described as an incessant desire to commit words to some medium. To express oneself. To arrange one's thoughts in such a way as to be able to revisit them later and wonder just what it was I was trying to say.
Over the years, I've written some items certain folks have found worth reading, along with a lot of mundane tappings that do little more than support Sturgeon's Law as it applies to blog posts.

It's not a subject that's easily addressed, and the evidence is far from indicative of anything other than what it is: most days, I find some time to say something here, and on occasion, it's something people want to read.
That said, I feel a need to get to that place again. That itch is coming back...
