Decisions, decisions...

Attempting to print a document found our creaky old Brother laser printer pleading for more toner. A trip to local stores that might carry the needed material determined that, overall, Brother has lost quite a bit of shelf space to companies like <spit> HP, and that what shelf space was devoted to Brother "refills" concentrated on the company's more recent offerings.

Naturally, at times like this, the idea of finally getting hold of a laser printer capable of printing in color surfaced and wriggled about like an ice worm through the crust of the Yukon snow. And there was a very reasonably priced offering from Samsung right there on the shelf in front of me...

Still, I managed to keep my composure and returned home to order a replacement toner cartridge from Amazon. I've been pretty good in my effort to maximize my paper-free work ethic, resorting to the printer only when (as is the case with a couple of current documents) the text is simply too hard to read on the screen, for whatever reason.

I shall, therefore, stay monochrome and carry on.

Dear Microsoft...

Thank you for changing the equation editor in Word.

Silly me. I had actually learned how to use the old one, and was actually quite productive with it.

This new one?

A whole new learning curve, the purpose of which can't possibly be the improvement of my productivity.

Oops, how silly of me... of course!

The purpose is "job security" (yours), and never mind anything else.

Le sigh.
