Course work...

After reviewing my conference presentations (the ones I could find), I've settled on which one I'm going to adapt in order to create an online course for Udemy. I put in some serious hours today in putting some polish on the first 25% of the slides and then learning how to use Open Broadcaster Software.

There are a number of YouTube tutorials on using OBS, and I was lucky enough to find one that hit the essentials and got me started.

I spent the early afternoon going to Home Depot with Galina to pick up bags of soil, and much of the rest of the afternoon sweating, doing yard work (the back yard grass got cut and I moved some rocks). All that activity put me in a position to make taking a nap an irresistible proposition, so I took one.

As the above suggests, no work came in today. No biggie. Not yet.

What is your Udemy course going to be about?

You're lucky to have the weather for yard work. It's miserable up here.

I'm revisiting an SRO presentation I did in Boston a few years ago, on using the Internet to find terminology. (Obviously, I need to figure out a way to explain that better to non-translators.) I'm not expecting the course to be very popular, but I do expect to learn the 'process' of putting a course together and publishing it online.

A couple of weeks ago, it was too cold; now, it's too hot. There's never really good weather for yard work. :)

Cheers...
