First lesson...

Generally speaking, the day was not terribly unusual.

I was fortunate to have a short job due by 1 pm, after which Galina and I went shopping for a bit, returning around 3 pm. I then noodled around with email and TiddlyWiki for a couple of hours and then got ready to take Shiloh to the PetSmart for the first lesson of the puppy obedience class.

Based on what I learned during the first lesson, the course will likely turn out to be worth the $100 investment.

Wow, that's a bargain. It's so worth taking any new dog through an obedience course, both for the dog and the owner. Learning to understand how and why the dog does what it does and the fastest and least stressful way to alter that is good for everyone.

Well, the folks at PetSmart are no dummies. This is just the first "puppy" course, meeting once per week for 6 weeks. There are three additional courses that can be taken, and private instruction is also offered.
