My bad.

My review of the tax returns to be translated was hasty, and my decision to start with the most recent one (on the assumption that tax returns tend to get more complicated over time) wasn't terribly swift, either, because Russian tax returns - just like the ones we have here - tend to change every year, but apparently they've tended to get simpler with time, if the ones in my possession are any indicator.

So, I've done two of the three returns I classified as "similar," which is good news, at least. The third return of similar format will doubtless have its own challenges, but the one that made my heart skip a beat was a computer printout of the oldest return, which is almost 1-1/2 times as large as the one for 2006 (16 pages).

So the current game plan is to finish today's slug of The Horror (still hovering at 1950 words left) and then do as much of the third similar return as possible before hitting the sack tonight. And maybe I'll get Galina or Natalie to press-check the two that I've done (which involves mostly just checking numbers, formatting, and "big picture" aspects of text).

Then tomorrow, I'll hit the ground hard with the rest of the tax translations and try hard to nail the last part of The Horror, so as to give myself a full day on Wednesday to wrap up all of The Horror's loose ends.

It's a plan, at least.
