Over the past couple of days, I've been making short, one-line notes regarding promising subjects for LJ posts, subjects that for the most part will require more time than I can devote right now to posting.

In reviewing the list, I note that a number of them have to do with things I have noted before about meetings and interpreting for them: being given only the vaguest of ideas of what a meeting is about before walking in the door, being dropped into a meeting in medias res, so to speak (which involves coming up to speed in an insanely short amount of time), and then having to dig up copies of presentations because whoever distributed presentations to each participant figured... what? that the interpreter isn't a participant? has no need to see this stuff?

Anyway, today in particular, I've been struggling with the terminology, which is to be expected, and since the presentations cover such a broad scope of subject matter, that problem is not likely to be ameliorated to any great extent. The good news is: I have all of next week to get proficient.

The meeting reconvenes at 1 pm. The facility offers wireless connectivity, which I am using from the Eee, which I'm putting through its paces in a sort of "dry run." It's been useful to have it in front of me with Firefox opened to Multitran.

Cheers...
