A pattern is emerging...

Or, "Why I just love working with Microsoft Word":
GOST R (110106-CPI).doc
GOST R (110106-CPI) (Repaired).doc
GOST R (110106-CPI) (Repaired) (Repaired).doc
GOST R (110106-CPI) (Repaired) (Repaired) (Repaired).doc
GOST R (110106-CPI) (Repaired) (Repaired) (Repaired) (Repaired).doc
GOST R (110106-CPI) (Repaired) (Repaired) (Repaired) (Repaired) (Repaired).doc
GOST R (110106-CPI) (Repaired) (Repaired) (Repaired) (Repaired) (Repaired) (Repaired).doc
And I'm only halfway through the document.

Cheers...

Could it be some add-on?
Or hard disk starting to fail?

MS products per se are VERY stable. Add-ons, however, can display all sorts of behaviour.

It might be an add-on, but I have nothing to compare Word behavior to, since I just about always use them together.

OTOH, rebooting Windows appears to have made the problem go away (KNOCK WOOD!). I'd been putting my machine to "sleep" instead of shutting it down for about the last 10 days.

Cheers...
