Eek! ...and other sentiments
Nov. 12th, 2000 10:53 amMy plan to get a full "night's" sleep starting at 3 pm yesterday worked way too well. I slept like a rock until a little after 1 am this morning. All in all, for the first time in about 5 years, I was late for an assignment. And it's also the first time in I don't know how long that I've slept for 10 hours.
That being said, I did, however, demonstrate that - starting in a configuration where I am in bed, looking at my alarm clock, and coming to the Stark Realization - I could make two phone calls, get washed (sort of), dressed (sort of), let the dog out for a quick whiz, find my badge and car keys, and get to the MCC in under 20 minutes without breaking any traffic laws. Well, not any important ones, at least.
I dimly recall receiving a call from Lee on Friday afternoon (night?) saying that although she and her mom had planned on leaving for home on Saturday, the weather was deteriorating: it was snowing, with an inch of snow on the ground already. Galina had expressed an interest in staying for another week, so I advised Lee to go along with the program and hang out with her mom for the additional time.
So of course, when I call today, it turns out they'd left for Texas sometime yesterday afternoon. I have a scant 4 hours before hitting the sack, and in that time, I must make sure I take care of the major violations against Orderliness and Cleanliness that have been allowed to reappear over the past few days.
So, what am I waiting for? I'm outa here!
Cheers...
