Clemens the sage...
Dec. 1st, 2000 03:07 pmMark Twain, whose real name was Sam Clemens, once wrote that "my life has been filled with terrible misfortunes...most of which never happened."
The old coot has a point. You'll recall my posts within the past few days wherein I speak of applying for a loan to buy a business? Well, I was pretty glum after the initial conversation with the bank (they didn't like this, and they didn't like that, and so on), and I was figuring they'd tell me no, and I'd have to go through the whole routine with another bank, etc.
Well, guess what?
With only a minor stipulation, it turns out we can do the deal!
Needless to say, my worries were needless. As substantive as a spider web in a hailstorm.
And the only downside I can see for the immediate moment is that I absolutely do not want to go to sleep right now, which I must do if I am to avoid acting like a zombie about 12 hours from now. (Gee, but I'm a whiner! :^)
I think I'll run around the block....
or maybe uproot a full-grown tree and sweep the street clean of trash....
or battle a giant or two before taking a nap.
Sweet dreams!
Cheers...
