The morning started early when a local law officer rang my doorbell around 5:30 am.

That, in itself, is rarely a good thing. I associate such visits with bad, bad news, as in: someone is dead or dying.

Well, it turns out someone is not paying child support...and that someone is the former resident of this house.

Bad news, I suppose, for the former resident's kids, but I feel strangely...exhilarated.
