Just a few scant moments...
Feb. 5th, 2001 06:52 am...until I must turn to the tasks of the day.
Galina made it okay, arriving around 2 am on Sunday morning. If it hadn't been for a 2-hour "detour" being lost around Ft. Worth, she'd have been here around midnight. What'd I tell you?
I moved the spreadsheet and other software to her laptop, which will be the store computer while I am in Houston. Yesterday, while the kids were up on "the mountain," Galina and I were in the store cleaning up. Among other things, we hung the photographs we got on consignment from Maria, and Galina did a little rearranging of the candles that we bought at the close of business Friday.
I got up at 4 am this morning, which puts me exactly out of synch with my flight support schedule (on at 8 pm, off at 4 am). Fortunately, I have a day in which to shift my schedule.
A friend sent me a link to a pretty interesting photograph that was assembled from photos taken from the government's DMSP satellites (not from the ISS, as I'd initially been told). It is a composite image of the Earth at night, as seen from space. I've shrunk it down to something manageable, and you can click on the image to view the original (2400 x 1200, 387 KB).

Gotta run. Wheels up in about 6 hours, and there's still some last-minute things to do at the store...not to mention having to pack!
Cheers...
