Complete weirdness, today...
Feb. 25th, 2001 09:35 pmThe day went by in a blur. I received my assignments for the upcoming week, and they're basically one simulation after another, through Thursday. Then Friday, it's Execute Package again, and then more air-to-ground next Saturday and Sunday.
Tonight's episode of the The X Files was well crafted, and offered a heart-stopping 'to be continued' plot that apparently will be 'continued' on April 1. Gorp. (Weekends in March will apparently be devoted to the broadcast of trial episodes of The Lone Gunmen, which is something of an X Files spinoff.)
There are few things more embarrassing than to get caught talking casually with your mike "hot." That happened to me today, and there's a part of me that knows I didn't say anything naughty, calumnious, slanderous, or off-color. Gossipy? Well, maybe. I have to figure that, besides not having said anything racy, I probably didn't have too large an audience, because generally people hail you when your mike's on when it's not supposed to be.
I'm apparently not the only one this happened to, today, so maybe there was something that got into the air conditioning ducts in Building 30, and the phenomenon is widespread. Yeah, that's the ticket.
It was nice having a real dinner with Galina this evening, even if it was a quick-and-dirty meal thrown together on a camp stove. Salad, sausage, and noodles...fare fit for a king and queen.
Cheers...
