Pouring it on!
May. 29th, 2001 08:33 pmNo sooner had I returned the translation that I finished last night than I get an e-mail asking for my correct fax number, so the agency can send me the remaining 22 pages of the project.
I respond, as I go out the door to spend time at the shop, as Drew and Shannon are due in Durango today for an appointment. I end up spending most of the day at the shop, which portends some late-night work, which is Not A Good Thing. I finally get out around 5:20 pm and walk home, which is the first time I've done that, as the previous time, Lee came down the road to pick me up.
I signed up with CallWave's Internet Answering Machine the other day, as we have only one line going to the house for now, and it's a royal pain to miss calls when you're online. The key to the deal is getting Call Forwarding set up on the phone line you're going to use for connecting to the Internet. When I called my local phone company's customer service, the dude who answered already knew the routine... apparently a lot of people around here use the software.
It works well, too. I just got a message downloaded to my machine for Shannon, from her mom.
The new translation looks like a doozy. It's geophysics, too, which isn't exactly rocket science (horrid pun, there), but it's not all that horrendous. I just have to keep track of what's what and keep things consistent.
Which reminds me... I've got to go back to work. I'd like to get a couple of pages down on phosphor before going to bed.
Cheers...
