Day's almost over...
Apr. 28th, 2002 07:00 pm...not that there's any weekend to look forward to, or anything. :^)
I dropped by the Einstein Bros bagelry on the way to work this morning, and ordered the lox and cream cheese special ($5.49). Following Alex K.'s advice, dispensed yesterday when I told him of disappointing results the last time I ordered this sandwich, I asked for someone with experience to make the order, as my previous sandwich seemed less than what I had come to expect.
They gave me the same sad excuse of a lox-and-cream-cheese sandwich. "Sad" not in the sense of "unacceptable," but in the sense of "mediocre." I'm not much of a complainer (Yeah, right. You ever read your own journal, bub?), so I'll just take my business elsewhere. Alex K. tells me I followed his advice poorly, as he would have raised all sorts of holy hell about the sandwich. Ah, well... diff'rent strokes, and all...
I got to my work place at 10 am, prepared to finish off the assignment Lev gave me for tomorrow morning, only to find that 8 radiograms had been deposited in our inbox already. Alex got there a few minutes later, and we've both been at it like a couple of galley slaves since then. He translated three utterly humongous Form 24s, while I chopped my way through the remaining ten radiograms (there were 13 delivered in all).
I'll finish Lev's assignment (a.k.a. the "халтура" project) later tonight or early tomorrow morning.
* * * The D&D crowd apparently finished their session sometime last night, as the living room was filled with sleeping bodies when I rose this morning (which was additional incentive for getting out of there as early as possible, as I mightily dislike tiptoeing around the house in the mornings).
Cheers...
