Client U called with a 9-pager around 9:30 am wanting it back by 4 pm. I took the job and got majorly stressed, but I got it done.

PHProjekt seems to work well in this context. For a long time, now, I've been trying to organize the files in my very badly abused MyDocuments directory, with little luck. Often, there are source documents, reference documents, translations, revisions to translations, and so on that are all part of a project, and they end up all over the place. There was a time I used the Microsoft "binder" file to store these items, but in the end I found the binder format hard to work with, and not being able to mix, say, Word files with HTML files is a real negative point.

With PHProjekt, after creating a project, you can upload files to a common directory and get at them via the project page, which displays a list of all relevant files. Between the project and timecard feature, you can even keep track of time on a project basis, though if you want to keep track of charges associated with the job, you are constrained to using a steady hourly rate, and I don't work that way. Apparently, you can also establish a budget for each project, too, but that doesn't really apply to my mode of operation, either.

I think I'm going to veg out this evening. I am feeling drained, my shoulder hurts (I'm afraid it's not just a chronic strain or sprain... I just hope it's not the early stage of arthritis or anything like that), and my eyes are burning for some reason.

The AAUI-to-RG45 converter arrived yesterday and I brought it home today. I think I may noodle a bit with it and see if I can get the PowerMac up on the network.

Cheers...
