July was the softest month of the year so far, and August is following pretty closely on those heels. As of this moment, my invoices for the month are $20 short of surpassing July, but I've finished the five Excel files (and that miserable Word file), as well as three of the six paper documents that've been on my plate since just about ever, it seems.

If I invoice those... heck, it might turn out to be a pretty good month after all.

And besides the three paper files, I have 9 pages due for client R on Tuesday morning.

It all looks do-able.

Galina and I just finished watching Beverly Hills Cop, which was the best film of the franchise, if you ask me. It had some genuinely funny moments, and the character development was pretty good.

Afterward, I came back down to the office to finish moving some items of furniture around. I've moved my desk to where it's next to the library table where 'onegin' sits, and I've cleared 'onegin' of the dot-matrix printer and the paper trays to make room for the phone (which used to be on my desk) and my "pen tray" (a display for Sharpie pens that I picked up at a garage sale for 10 cents, which also used to be on my desk; it has spaces for 144 writing implements).

Eventually, I plan to move 'onegin' into the area vacated by Drew et alia, where I've already moved a table, a computer, the "spare" filing cabinet that's been in the garage for the past 18 months, and most of my tax stuff. I'll make the move when I can afford to buy another UPS, since right now both 'olympic' and 'onegin' are connected to the unit I have at home.

It's getting late. I think I talked Drew into opening the store tomorrow, so I can take my time at the ham breakfast (I won't dawdle, but it'd sure be nice not to have to watch the clock like a hawk and wolf down my food to make it to the store on time).

Cheers...

P.S. My desk is disgustingly clean. :^)

P.P.S. An interesting site to look down upon yourself (sort of); link courtesy of someone with way too much time on their hands on the Lantra-L mailing list.
