Today, at the ham breakfast, I found out one can drop by a clinic downtown and get a flu shot for a nominal fee, so I got one. While I was there, I decided to stop by the courthouse and vote early, since I'll be out of town on Tuesday. No special reason need be stated for voting early; interestingly enough, they also don't ask for your identification, but do ask you to verify your date of birth and physical address.

I was gratified to see so many Libertarian candidates running for statewide office, but of course, none of them have the proverbial snowball's chance of winning. Most of my votes were on local issues and local candidates.

While I was downtown, I picked up the mail and upon dropping it off at the store, I went home to work on my presentation. By 12:30, I was feeling pretty low. Although I had more than enough information for the presentation, organizing it was turning it into a nightmare. What makes sense one way, makes no sense another way. In its "final" form, my first draft had way too many "forward declarations," which is a term borrowed from programming, where the practice is legal. In my case, I had too many slides that referred to a concept that was explained later in the presentation.

At 12:30, I went to the store to spell Galina, who had a doctor's appointment. It turns out, based on this practitioner's opinion, that much of what's troubling Galina today is a consequence of an accident she suffered about 3-4 years ago, when she collided with a car that had pulled out onto a highway in front of her and stopped.

I went home around 3 pm or so and proceeded to review my presentation, and suddenly realized how to make it all work. I finished incorporating the changes a little while ago and printed out the slides. I'll let them sit on the printer until tomorrow morning, when I can look at them with a fresh mind.

BTW, we have to get the oil changed, as well as new tires, on the van, preferably tomorrow (and preferably, not by my driving to Durango... I want to minimize behind-the-wheel time between now and Monday morning).

Anyway, time to go upstairs and spend time with Galina.

Cheers...
