And that's feeling pretty good, actually.
As long as I don't do anything physical, apparently. Today, I walked from the store to the accountant's office and back (a total of perhaps 250 yards maximum, for the round trip), and found myself breathing a little hard about halfway back. This is not good, but better than several alternatives.
The stint at the store took care of filing the sales tax return for the fourth quarter of last year. It took a little time, but was fairly straightforward. I returned home around noon and lay down to take a nap at 1 pm.
Galina called at around 2:15, and we talked for a while. Things are going reasonably well down in Houston, and Galina will be heading back up here on Saturday, if the plan holds.
I sat down to the translation at 4 pm and had it finished by 6 (with a little time to spare). It was only 1600 words, but they flew relatively quickly from the fingertips. The one additional item of good news is that I didn't feel at all fatigued afterward.
Flipping through the channels on the dish confirms and reconfirms the fact that there is nothing to watch on TV. Half the time, when I do settle down to stare at the boob tube, it's because I'm going to watch something I know is not worth my time (I mean, sure, L.A. Confidential is a good film, but watching it just because it happens to be on seems a bit... like compromising one's life.)
Anyway, I'm going to take it easy for a while and then hit the rack.
Cheers...
