No stress...
Feb. 23rd, 2003 07:13 pmIt's been one of those days.
It started when Ming's "let me out" clock went off an hour early, at 5 am. I let him out and set the alarm for 15 minutes later, which is when I'd go let him in. After getting up a second time, I found I was wide awake, so I forced myself to go back to sleep.
It is, after all, a Sunday.
I got up for real around 7 and puttered around for a bit. By just short of 8 am, I'd made morning coffee for Galina and I was off to (a) play some chess at the coffee shop and (b) do an inventory of our postage.
All I can say about the former is that it was a good thing I brought along a magazine to play over some games, as no chess players stopped by while I was there. All I can say about the latter is that I now have a much better picture as regards our 'accountability,' and better understand why we need to order 'ordinary' stamps so often (we have way too many 'strange' denominations).
So, for the rest of the day, I concentrated on getting the translation finished. Once I did that, I started rooting through my hard drive looking for some critical files that would give me valuable terminological guidance (answering questions along the lines of: "Is it a 'complex' or a 'facility'?").
As is usually the case, I started to solve the General Problem of Looking For Files but managed to catch myself in time. There is still plenty of disk space on my Linux box, don't worry!
The final review took a couple of hours, and I've just sent the file off. I may do the invoice now, or I may procrastinate until tomorrow. (I'm leaning toward the latter, as I'm a bit tired after the review... having to reread all that stuff... I think it gave me a headache.)
Cheers...
