Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow...
Feb. 25th, 2003 09:53 pmIt started to snow as I left Durango for home last night. By the time I got home, the snow was starting to stick a bit on the road, and I saw two snowplows moving along Highway 160. I suspect, however, that the drivers were simply getting reacquainted with the road, as there was nothing to plow.
Upon rising this morning, it was evident that the snow had stopped soon after I'd gotten home. However, by the time I got to the store, the snow had started again.
The forecast calls for snow - on and off - through Saturday. I will believe that when I see it. In the meantime, we got about 4-5 inches of fairly wet snow "down here" at 7400 feet, and it was enough to make 160 very slippery and other roads well-nigh impassible. (I know, I tried to get home around 2 pm and gave it up as a bad job after a half hour, after which it took another 20 minutes to get back to the store.. Normally it takes me about 5 minutes to drive one way from the store to the house.)
Let it snow. We need it.
Cheers...
