Yesterday was another "itchy" day... no phone calls, more snow, more bills.

* * *
We went over to the kids' house last night to babysit while they went to a "Fat Tuesday" party (whassamatta, nobody can say "Mardi Gras" anymore?). I brought along a couple of films to help pass the time.

The first, The Steamroller and the Violin, looked good on Netflix, but Galina couldn't take much more than about 10 minutes of it. Steamroller is a 1961 film by Andrei Tarkovsky (famous for, among other films, the first film version of Solaris), and I have to admit, some of the images are caricatures by today's standards.

We then turned to something called The Transporter, which is a fairly run of the mill, mediocre shoot-em-up that involves a lot of high-speed chases, a lot of physical beatings, and a few cute stunts. Whatever logic the plot started with apparently was blown up in one of the early action sequences.

Having run out of stuff that we'd brought, we started channel surfing and found The Godfather, Part II, which served to entertain us until the kids got home. We ourselves got home around midnight.

Lots of stuff to do, as Galina and I are going to Denver to see a presentation by Kiyosaki tonight. The single sticking point is all of the new snow that fell last night, and which is still falling. Wolf Creek Pass right now requires snow tires or chains (so it's not that bad :^), while the rest of the road is slushy, wet, snowpacked, etc. all the way up to the Mile High City (down there in the lowlands).

As I said, lots of stuff, and not enough time. I expect my next post to be late tomorrow.

Cheers...
