An overall plus on the day...
Mar. 8th, 2003 10:57 pmRent checks from the Houston properties came in, so that ought to ease the recent pressure to some degree, but I'm going to have to pay attention to details if I'm going to get our finances in order. And that's going to be an ongoing thing.
It's been a day of mostly good things. I found a fountain pen that had been missing for way too long, as well as the power supply to the eSlate, which had been missing for a couple of days.
I tried reinstalling TWiki from scratch, and this time I did so with a better knowledge of what the heck is supposed to happen, so the end result actually worked. TWiki-ing is still not easy, but at least it's a start.
I also installed the 'spambayes' filter on my Linux box, which is supposed to do Bayesian analysis of incoming mail and - based on training sessions with spam and "ham" (good mail) - figure out which is which and do the appropriate thing. The only issue currently is that I do not see it working quite yet, but then again, I had the fetchmail task commented out in the system's crontab for much of the day.
Spent much of the evening watching movies on Starz, which is apparently letting everyone get a taste of what's available. Galina and I watched some weird movie called Snow Dogs, with Cuba Gooding, Jr. and the late James Coburn, followed by a fairly old martial arts movie starring a young Jet Li.
Lots of paper chasing today; more tomorrow. Time to rest up for the ordeal.
Cheers...
