Another quiet day...
Mar. 18th, 2003 08:40 pmAgain, I didn't get to the translation until the second half of the day, but it went well (which is to say, quickly). I just need to review the thing, to make sure that all designations such as "TU2-053-1626-86E" are correct. It's a shame that something like that only counts as one word. :^)
* * * While putting away the CD-R copy of the DVD I made the other day, it turns out that the sound on the second disk is about 2 seconds ahead of the lips moving on the screen. I have no idea if this is a typical artifact when copying a DVD, but frankly, I have no desire to learn if this is true or not. After nearly a day of processing time, if this is the best that can be achieved, then it falls far short of what is acceptable.
* * * The snow that has been blanketing a good part of the state has stayed scrupulously away from our corner of the woods, which is a shame. We can use all the snow Mother Nature cares to let fall on us (ambient temperature during the day at our elevation tends to melt the stuff quickly... up on the mountain, the temperatures don't get that high).
Anyway, it's time to get away from this machine.
Cheers...
