Too many balls to juggle...
I got started on the last 7 pages kind of late in the day, but they're finished, and it's not a bad day's work (almost 2500 words).
But before I got to that, I had to deal with a mailing that we agreed to do for a store customer. Yesterday, I OCRed the mailing list and edited the letter somewhat. Today, we got approval on the edits and I asked a bunch of questions about how people should be addressed (mostly having to do with titles of courtesy). I managed to remember how to do a mail merge operation on a letter and also sent the appropriate envelopes through the laser printer.
But before I got to that, I had to deal with an e-mail in which one of my clients basically referred me to a direct client who needs to get 12 pages done sometime soon. I called the direct client and we spoke briefly. My price seemed fairly reasonable, so I sent off a confirmatory e-mail and am waiting for a reply. I figure the job is about 2000 words long, and I can probably wedge it in along with the item that's due on the 19th.
And of course, before that, I did my regular stint at the store and visited the bank. Their long-awaited Web-based bank-by-mail system is up, and I managed to get online this morning after an interesting series of steps that I don't recall going through before, with the Lockheed Credit Union.
So now that I've finished this latest assignment, I have to review the six documents that make it up.
* * * Well, it turns out the first part of this post sat around, unposted, while I reviewed the documents. The job is done now, and I was on the way to clearing my Windows desktop (the old fashioned way, one window at a time, when I ran across Semagic, quietly waiting for someone to click the "Post entry" button.
Consider it done. :^)
Cheers...
